She contested in Rampur and won the MP seat. When there was some internal politics in the party, Jaya Prada jumped to Amar Singh’s side. In the next polls, she had to face the candidate, whom she won in the previous election. Luck favored Prada and she won in 2009 too. As Amar Singh had to leave the party, she joined RLD. But in the next election, she lost her position. 

Now, she joined BJP. This is the first time, the actress joined a National Party. Will Jaya Prada win once again? We have to wait and watch. In the professional front, the actress was last seen in a Tamil and Malayalam bilingual film, “Kinar.”​
