, the Indian cricketer was honored with an honorary army colonel post. When everyone expected that Dhoni would be moving to West Indies with the Indian Cricket team, his decision came as an unexpected one. Yes, he announced that he would be staying with the army for a period of 15 days and serve the nation. An official report from the army stated the following:
Lieutenant colonel (honorary) MS Dhoni is proceeding to 106 TA battalion (Para) for being with the battalion from 31st July to 15th August 2019. The said unit is in Kashmir valley and it is a part of Victor Force. Dhoni will be on duty patrolling, post duty guarding and he would be staying with the troops and this is requested by the officers and the army headquarters had approved it.
