Dravida Kazhagam is the first Dravidian party started in Tamilnadu. This party was founded by Periyar. The party was started to insist on self-esteem, rationalism, women’s rights, resisting the caste and atheism. The present Dravid Kazhagam President is K Veeramani and the Vice President is Kali Poongundran. A meeting had been held in Thanjavur, recently. Veeramani announced that Kali Poongundran would be the Dravid Kazhagam President after his period.
Kali Poongundran is from Mayiladuthurai. He is an ardent disciple of Periyar. He resigned his government job and joined DK. As Veeramani announced, people guess that he might retire soon from politics. Let’s wait and watch!
