Vidyut has accused online analyst cum critic Sumit Kadel of taking bribes in return for favorable reviews of films. This came after Sumit posted a tweet where he accused a 'so-called outsider' [without taking any name] of being uncouth and arrogant.
However, Vidyut did not take this lightly and posted a counterattack on his X [formerly Twitter] account, where he accused him of doing paid reviews and promotions. In his own words, "Asking for a bribe is a crime, and giving one is a crime too!!" My crime "is not giving??? #sumitkadel…so every time you praise someone -We know the criminal..."
However, this is not the first time critics are under fire for being biased towards a section of actors/films. Only a few months ago, acclaimed Sandeep Reddy Vanga went on a tirade, accusing critics of being extremely partial and also 'illiterate and uneducated'.
Even Yami Gautam, who has earned accolades for her no-nonsense portrayal in the recently released 'Article 370', criticized this trend without taking names. For her, there is 'no point in justifying the film to those with pre-conceived notions.'
