It’s only halfway in March, and Bollywood has sprung back into action. Contrary to various media reports, the industry seems to have already passed the March test, getting 2 commercial successes within a month.

, has already breached the coveted mark of 100 crores within the first week. By the time this horror thriller geared up for its second week, it had earned a gross total of 103.24 crores, and a worldwide collection of 130.46 crores, way above the budget of 60 crores. For Ajay Devgn [who is also this film’s producer], this is the perfect start for a long year ahead.
However, he is not alone. The much talked about ‘Article 370’ has finally breached the 100 crores mark in overseas collections. Despite multiple releases, the film has refused to buckle and has earned an impressive total of 87.57 crores in gross domestic collections, and 100.08 crores in worldwide collections. With that, Bollywood has had 2 consecutive commercial successes within March itself.
It would be interesting to see whether the end of March brings further success, with films like ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, ‘Madgaon Express’ and ‘The Crew’ lined up for release.
