His first film was a drama titled Khuda Kay Liye in 2007, followed by Kandahar Break: Fortress of War (2009). During the shooting of Kandahar Break: Fortress of War, an unfortunate incident took place when an allegedly Talibani group attacked the crew of the film. This forced the team to leave the country and pause the shooting. Later on, with the help of funds arranged by Hameed, the shooting resumed in Tunisia. He is a man with a genuine passion for his work. In 2015, he played the character of an aged man in a movie titled Moor for which he underwent a body transformation.
He did the role for free because he believed that the film would encourage the youngsters of Baluchistan to make a career in acting. Hameed is well-versed in Hindko, Seraiki, Dari, Sindhi, Urdu, Punjabi, and Balochi languages. His movie Abdullah: The Final Witness, in which he played the role of Abdullah, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. He was awarded the Jury Prize for the film Hearts and Minds at the Alexandra Film Festival. He has been a part of films like The Window (2021), a Nepali film-The Man from Kathmandu (2019), Away, Together (2020), and O21 (2014). His work on television includes Kal, Naqab Sang, Matti, Wapasi, Wapsi kay Baad, Zanjeer, and Ishq.
