His mother is Turkish, and his father is Pakistani. He was born in Istanbul, Turkey, on 7 February 1978. Tipu had been given the Turkish name 'Yorguc,' a variant of the Greek word Yorgos. After completing his schooling, he graduated from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. Since 2005 Tipu Sharif has been a part of the Pakistani television business. Over ten years, he has appeared in about a hundred drama serials, portraying a wide range of characters.
