Urdu Producer Pervaiz Kaleem

Pervaiz Kaleem is a Pakistani film director, producer, and screenwriter. He was born on February 14, 1949. Pervaiz Kaleem’s place of birth is the Shahalmi Market area in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. His father’s name is Haji Hassan Ali Rajput, who was a cinema owner and a businessman. After his birth, Pervaiz Kaleem’s parents moved to Krishan Nagar, Lahore. When he was eight years old, he was enrolled in the sixth class at a famous school in Lahore, the Cathedral School. After finishing his matriculation (tenth grade) school, Pervaiz Kaleem went to the Government College of Lahore, where he took a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree. He married Anisa, with whom Pervaiz Kaleem had four children, namely Mohammad Adeel Kaleem (also known as Adeel pk), Zain Kaleem, Mahnoor Kaleem, and Aman Kaleem.

In his formative years in Lahore, Pervaiz Kaleem found a job at Evernew Studios, Lahore. He worked as a peon and trolley man, and then one day he met with famous film director Agha Hussaini. Agha Hussaini assisted him for five years. He managed to write the dialogue for a small film for fifty rupees. Pervaiz Kaleem used to work as an assistant director occasionally. In 1987, he began working as a writer and a film director for the movie “Jazbaat,” but was unable to complete it due to production issues with this film.

As a writer, Pervaiz Kaleem worked in a Pakistani drama film, “Bazar-e-Husn,” co-directed by Javed Fazil Bio coming soon... >> Read More... and Sarwar Bhatti in 1988. After that, he became a well-known film director and screenwriter in the Pakistani film industry. In 1993, Pervaiz Kaleem and his brother, Hamid Ali, commenced a production named “Ali Arts Productions.” Their debut film under this banner was “ Gunnah Gunnah is a Pakistan television-based Miniseries, >> Read More... ” (Sin), which came out in 1993. Their second production was the film “Jaltay Badan” in 1994. In the film, he introduced his brother Safeer Ali.

The same year, Pervaiz Kaleem made “But Shikken.” He thought that when a film screenwriter writes scripts, he should explore subjects with a broad base, and the viewers should interpret these stories with an open mind. Pervaiz Kaleem’s son, Adeel Pk is the editor and director. He and his son Adeel Pk have also worked together to write scripts for films such as “Bhai Log – All About Nation” (2011), “Zil-e-Shah” (2008), “Pehla Sajda,” “ Shiddat An emotional Urdu television series called "Shidda >> Read More... ,” “Moosa Khan” (2001), and “Mujhe Chand Chahiye” (2000). Besides this, he also worked in several films, including Sultanat (2014), Rang Ishqay Da (2023), and many more. Pervaiz Kaleem was also honored with the Best Screenwriter Award for the film “Jannat Ki Talash” in 1999.
