Suleman was born Syed Suleman in Hyderabad, Deccan, British India. Santosh and Darpan Kumar are his younger brothers. He directed, produced, and acted in films such as Zeenat (1975), Kuch Dil Ne Kaha (2006), and Anari (1975). Suleman directed and produced 49 films, several of which significantly impacted the Pakistani film industry. He was married to Zarrin Panna and had three children with her.
