Hailing from Barisal, Bangladesh and living in the capital, Dhaka, Bangladesh, Nuna Afroz is a Bangladeshi Actress and Theatre Director who was rarely seen on television yet avidly and actively performed on stage frequently. She was a founder of Theatre Troupe Prangone Mor, where she also enacted in many plays. Since being a young girl, Nuna was drawn to acting and started acting in Barisal Theatre in her hometown. She was taught by her acting teacher, Sri Nikhil Sen, who directed a play, Lalshalu, in which Nuna played the role of Jamila. She later shifted to Dhaka and worked with Nagorik Natto Somproday for 13 years, where she participated in various theatre performances such as Dewan Gazir Kissa, Rother Roshi, Kaal Sondha, Ocholoyton and Swapnabaaj.
Nuna, along with Anant Hira, found Theatre Troupe Prangone Mor in 2003, which focussed primarily on Tagore’s plays. In 2016, Nuna participated in Women Directors Film Festival, which was held in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, for the play, Ami O Rabindranath, which was highly appreciated and received rave reviews from many people.
