Gurucharan Virk was a famous Indian Punjabi film director, writer, lyricist, and producer. He was a film director at HI film focus private limited (company). He was born in the year 1968. His birthplace is village Arianwala, Faridkot district, in Punjab, India. He belongs to a farmer family. He went to “Government Senior Secondary School, Arayanwala” for his secondary education. He did a Master of Arts in News Network and completed his post-graduation from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He was passionate about listening to music and reading from childhood. He lived in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Gurucharan Virk initiated his career in the film industry in1983. He recorded his first music at the age of 15. ‘Gurucharan’ engaged in the uplift of the Punjab music industry.

He assisted and introduced many singers in the industry such as Sukhwinder, Pargat Bhagu Pargat Bhagu is an Indian lyricist and singer who >> Read More... , Dilshad Akhtar, Mohamad Boota Khan, Neelam Sharma, Sukhi Sidhu, and Manjit Roupwalia. He has worked on more than 250 music albums and also provided music infamous television commercials. He engaged with music brands including T-series, Fineton, CMC, Peritone, Anmol, and many more. As a writer, he worked for 15 Punjabi films, 3 televidion serials, 2 Hindi films, and 14 telefilms. He directed three television serials such as Vaapsi, Kachi, and Doraha. He was known for his directing in Punjabi films Sardari (1997), Fight Back (2014), and Toofan Singh (2017). The movie “Madi Da Diva,” co-directed by him, was one his best and got National Award for the Best film in 1990.

He directed many television films such as Fauj Da Family, Bapu Di Pension, Attro Diyan Chugliyan, Police Naaka, Maanwan De Dil, Bapu Da Viah, and Sardaari. The documentaries made by Gurucharan Virk include Mother Dairy, Seva Te Simran, Milkfed, and Parivartan. Commercials for K Humate, Punjab State Lottery, Meethe Main Khush Meetha Ho Jaye, and Har Ik Friend Jaruri Hota Hai are famous prominent. He lived for 48 years and died on October 11, 2016. He passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack. He cremated at his native village.
