Sanjay Navgire is a writer and lyricist in the Marathi film industry. He comes from the Ashti Bidh district of Maharashtra. He graduated from the Arts, Commerce, and Science College in his hometown, Ashti Bidh. Sanjay was the dialogue writer for various Marathi films in the industry. Some of these include- Takatak (2019), Ek Number (2022), Takatak 2 (2022), and Alyad Palyad (2024). He also wrote the scripts for Dhiskyaoon (2023), Aamhi Jarange (2024), Foreign Return Well Settled and Maatangi. However Sanjay managed to make a mark in the industry with the first film he produced, Redu. This 1970-based comedy immediately won the heart of the audience when it was released in the theaters in 2017. This film has won over 58 national and international awards in the film festivals. Out of the ten nominations this film got in the 55th Marathi Film Festival, it won eight of those.
Sanjay himself was nominated for the Best Screenplay, Best Story, and Best Writer. Among these, he won the best screenplay award. He also received the 9th Chitra Padarpan Puraskar by Divine Cause Social Foundation in 2019 for the Best Story. He received another award at Ambarnath Marathi Film Festival for Best Lyricist in 2018. To top it all, he was also nominated at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2018 for this film. Sanjay was the lyricist for Koti (2015), Hou De Tattad (2022), and Maatangi. As an actor, Sanjay played the role of a government officer in the blockbuster film, Takatak. In the Marathi feature film Maatangi, he appeared in the role of the character Yashya. Even though Sanjay’s entry in the filmy world is relatively recent, he has contributed in delivering exceptional stories to the audience.
