Akshay Bardapurkar is a famous film producer, social worker, businessman, and the founder of Planet Marathi Group. Akshay was born on 18th May 1980 in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. He has done his graduation from the University of Mumbai. He also possesses a diploma in Brand Management from the United Kingdom. His initial area of interest was Event Management, so after his education, he started an organisation in 2007 that managed and handled Award functions, Posh Corporate Events and Weddings. Later, he found a chance to work for a Global Event Management Group that planned and conducted shows of various celebrities around the world such as Backstreet Boyz and Brian Adams etc. This milestone led to his venture in Celebrity Management, Brand Management, and Brand Imaging.

Akshay is a pure Maharashtrian by heart, his love for the Marathi language has been increasing over the years. It became his passion to uplift the Marathi cinema and film industry and help it grow and go global. Therefore, he is known as the pioneer of the Marathi Film Industry. His love for Marathi inspired him to create Planet Marathi Group, which is a body of entertainment that functions through three divisions: Planet Marathi Productions – The Entertainment Company that specialises in Marathi Television, Films, and Web Series, Planet Talent- Casting and Celebrity Management and Planet Marathi OTT, the first-ever platform for the Marathi movies. The tagline of Planet Marathi ‘Ma Maanacha Ma Marathi Cha’ is something people will remember for years to come.

Also, he appeared in International Magazines including Vogue, GQ, and Variety. He is popularly known as the man who brings regional cinema to your doorstep. Moreover, he has also produced films like Chandramukhi, Sahela Re, Rainbow, and Crypto Aajji. He also produced the critically acclaimed movie AB aani CD in which Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan starred for the first time in a Marathi Cinema. He also co-produced ‘Rege’ in 2014. He is also a philanthropist who supports small growing businesses. He works with them and contributes to the development of society through various effective projects.
