In 1964, at Vardha, Pratap Sarnaik was born into a middle-class Maharashtrian family. Pratap Sarnaik attended Pendharkar College in Dombivli. He has been active in social work throughout his undergraduate years. He instinctively joined the Students Movement during his undergraduate years due to his interest in social responsibility and aiding those who were in need. He now holds the positions of Chairman of the Vihang Group of Companies, Founder and Director of Sanskruti Yuva Pratishthan, Communications Leader for Mira Bhayander, Shivsena, and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Ovala-Majiwada (Vidhan Sabha seat). Starting his political career with the Nationalist Congress Party, Pratap Sarnaik (NCP). In November 2008, he joined the Shiv Sena after quitting the NCP.
