Amit Mazire is an executive producer based in Maharashtra. He predominantly works in the Marathi film industry. He made his debut with a Marathi movie called Dhondi, which was released in 2017. The film was directed by Monish Pawar and the story was about a drought-stricken village where farmers commit suicide due to lack of rain. A little boy, Dadya gets scared after his neighbor commits suicide and fears that his father Kisnya might take the same step.
The village had been suffering from severe drought for three years and there were increasing cases of farmers dying out of hunger and debt because farming was their main source of income. Dadya then decides to bring rain to the village by following some old customs like chanting God's name overnight or burying money as a bribe for the rain gods.
