Nakul Jogdeo, a pianist, music educator, and composer, was born on 25 December 1986 in Pune. He studied at Jnana Prabodhini Prashala in Pune. His father taught him Hindustani Classical Music and later by a renowned musician, Kalyani Keskar. At 16, he attended a workshop hosted by composer Kedarnath Awati at the Film and Television Institute of India. He inspired and took to Western Classical Music. In 2003, Nakul started learning the piano under Professor Kedar Awati, Dean of the Film Department at FTII, and later by Roxana Anklesaria, Doctor at the Academy of Music, Pune. In 2006, he started teaching the piano. His students won many awards and received distinctions in piano examinations and competitions. In 2010, he studied and received a diploma in piano from Trinity College in London.
Nakul has worked as a Composer and Music Director for short films, plays, documentaries, commercials, and a Marathi feature film named Hou De Jarasa Ushir. He also released thirty self-written and self-produced songs. In 2005, Nakul received first prize for the electronic keyboard in Firodiya Karandak's inter-college competition. In 2007, he completed Government Diploma in Applied Art.
He also won a National Level Piano Festival - MusiQuest, organized by the Academy of Music in Pune. In 2010, he received sixth place in the third Kawai Asia Piano Competition in Hong Kong. He also won third prize at Furtados ConBrio National Piano Competition in Mumbai. In 2011 and 2012, he received the Best Music Composer Award in Marathi Bhaavsangeet Spardha and Gajananrao Watawe Memorial Trophy organized by Swaranand Pratishthan. In 2015, he received Audience Favorite Award at Furtados ConBrio National Piano Competition in Mumbai.
He also attends a piano training course at Trinity Laban Summer Academy in Goa. In 2016, he performed at Mumbai Piano Day with renowned pianists, including Priya Ann Fernandes, Sonam Lodhi, and Nadine Jo Crasto. In 2017, he performed in a concert at Mazda Hall organized by the Pune Guitar Society. In 2019, Nakul attended an orchestral workshop at Goa University in Goa. In 2022, he was the director of the Furtados Con Brio Junior Piano Competition. Nakul Jogdeo is the owner of the Gunjarav School of Music. It has two branches, the first in Karve Nagar and the second in Hadapsar. Nakul also took music classes with British pianist Mark Troop.
