Sonia Parchure is a celebrated Kathak Dancer and Choreographer. She began her journey when she was six years old under the guidance of Mrs. Punam Murdeshwar. She was a dedicated student and received rigorous training for 15 years to learn the nuances of Kathak under the renowned Kathak Guru Guruvarya Dr. Manjiri Deo. She has achieved Nritya Visharad in first class and Nritya Alankar in first class from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay. She is the founder of Guru of Sharayu Nritya Kalamandir. At present, she is undergoing training in ‘Layakari’ from Talamani Pandit Mukundraj Deo, who is a well-known Tabla exponent. Besides being a classical dancer, she is an acclaimed actor. She has appeared in many Marathi television shows like Saval Andharacha, Premachya Gava Jave, Pahuna, and Gela Madhav Kunikade. She was appreciated and praised by the critics and audience for her acting in the film Aakka. She has also appeared in films Mee Porgi Kunachi (2006) and Butterfly (2023).
