Damuanna Malvankar, born in 1893, was a famous Marathi actor. Malvankar started his journey from Natak Mandlis. Starting from Maharashtra Natak Mandli, Damuanna Malvankar had also worked with Sangeet Natak Group, Balwant Sangeet Mandli, and debuted in films with the movie Bedekar. Damuanna’s image became identified with his work in Chimanro. His character was the middle-aged householder of CV Joshi’s political satires in the movie. His first prominent film was Brandichi Batli in 1939, with Vinayak and Atre, in which he played the character of a Marathi gentleman. He had done over 50 Marathi hit films.
