Singer Swetha Ashok

SwethaAshok is a playback singer who got training from T Ramachandran Namboothiri and Vaikom Jayachandran Namboothiri, whom she considers her Gurus. Swetha was born and brought up in Cochin. She has an elder sister and an elder brother. Aswathi Ashok, her sister, is an entrepreneur and a lyricist and her brother Vishnu Ashok is a violinist. Swetha turned popular after taking part in the Munch Star Singer, a reality show hosted in Asianet in 2008. She is the winner of the show and received a lot of opportunities to showcase her talent worldwide. She has done more than 500 stage shows in India, Singapore, Middle East, Canada and the US.

Swetha started her career as a playback singer in the year 2010 under the music composition of Sharreth. It was Amme Mookambike for the film, Nalla Paatukkare. Then, she went on to continue her studies. She worked as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science and worked as an online music instructor at NotesNBeats. After seven years of her debut, she crooned a song from the film Sakhavinte Priyasakhi under the music composition of Hari. As she is from a family of musicians, her parents and siblings motivated her to do original songs and she launched her first song on 26th August 2020, Chingaponpulari. It is an Onam special song and Swetha featured in it. The music is composed by Vishnu Ashok, Swetha’s brother and the lyrics are by Aswathi Ashok, her sister. KP Ashokan and Jyothi Ashok, their parents, produced the album. The song turned viral at once and Swetha turned much popular.
