Ju Ji-hoon was born in South Korea on May 16, 1982. He is a model and an actor. Ju was born under the sign of Taurus, and his blood type is A. His breakthrough performance came in the 2006 blockbuster drama "Princess Hours." Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds and its sequel, The Spy Gone North, Dark Figure of Crime, and Kingdom are his other famous works. Ju made her modeling debut in 2003, appearing in ads for Calvin Klein, Levi's, and Reebok. He received several modeling honors. He attended Tongwon College and majored in e-Business before entering the entertainment business. Ju appeared in several television dramas doing  minor role, but it wasn't until 2006's romantic comedy Princess Hours, based on the manhwa Goong, that he broke through. The drama was a smash hit both locally (with a high rating of 28.3 percent) and abroad (across Asia), propelling Ju to Korean Wave superstar. At the MBC Drama Awards, he was named Best New Actor. Ju appeared in KBS2's revenge drama The Devil in March 2007, with Uhm Tae-Woong and Shin Min-a.  In the same month, he won the New Asian Star award at the 1st Astar TV Drama Awards for his roles in Princess Hours and The Devil.

Ju made his cinematic debut in Antique (2008), a film based on the Antique Bakery’s manga. The film has been selected for the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. In China, Ju made his feature debut with Love Suspicion, a romantic thriller. In 2015, Ju appeared in the historical drama The Treacherous. He then returned to the small screen with SBS' melodrama Mask, co-starring Soo Ae. Ju returned to television in 2019 with two series: Netflix's zombie period drama Kingdom and MBC's fantasy legal drama Item. In 2020, Ju returned to Kingdom for a second season and appeared in the courtroom drama Hyena. Ju joined with the new agency H&E entertainment in January 2021. Ju enrolled in the Republic of Korea Army on February 2, 2010, to perform his required military service of five weeks of basic training followed by active duty with the reserve forces.
