Susmita Bhattacharya is a known Indian personality who is a well-established Hindi writer. Besides being a writer, she is an author, lecturer, tutor, writing facilitator, and course developer and manages everything that pertains to writing. She is a Bengali personality and speaks Hindi and English fluently. Susmita Bhattacharya had her education from Bombay Scottish School with the ICSE board. From 1991 to 1996, she had an applied arts diploma - graphic design, photography, and art. She also went to Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd UK, where she completed her master's in creative writing.
Susmita Bhattacharya has written many books, including The Normal State of Mind and Asiatic Russia: Partnerships and Community in Eurasia [sharing with co-author Anita Sengupta]. She won the Winchester Writer's Festival Memoir Prize in 2016 for the novel The Normal State of Mind. She also writes short stories like Table Manners, published by Dahlia Books (2018). Susmita Bhattacharya is a teacher or tutor teaching short fiction at Winchester University. She used to lead workshops at universities and festivals and appear as a guest lecturer.
