Rakhee Sandilya is a Screenplay writer and filmmaker. She has completed her studies in London. She completed her post-graduate diploma in “Creative Media,” Charleston College. She writes stories since her childhood, following the advice of her father. As an assistant director, her first film was, “Mein aur Mr. Right.” Her first direction,”Ribbon,” starring Kalki Koechilin, was a highly appreciated movie.
Before she moved to Mumbai, she worked on various documentaries in London viz. “MY BABY, NOT MINE,”“Heritage India,” ”Desi Folk.” These documentaries have fetched many awards for her. “My Baby, Not Mine”, is based on the lives and struggles of surrogate mothers. She has also worked on Television commercials and corporate films. She has an exceptional talent of narrating the real world juggling stories of the society, through her direction, that otherwise remain in small pockets in some corner.
