Jayapurna Das is a writer in the Indian entertainment industry. He was born and brought up in Mumbai, but his roots are in Mysore, Karnataka. Jayapurna lost his mother when he was in school. When he was in college, his father passed away. Jayapurna has a sister. Jayapurna is an engineering graduate. Jayapurna joined the railways after completing his graduation. He was managing his father’s business, too. Due to his interest in filmmaking, he completed a filmmaking course. After completing the course, he started his cinema career as an assistant director. While working as an assistant director, he got married and has a son, Chaitanya.
After his marriage, Jayapurna Das turned into a stage play writer and started writing devotional stories. In 2025, he penned the script for the animated devotional movie Mahavatar Narasimha, directed by Ashwinkumar and produced by Kleem Productions. He got the opportunity, as Ashwin, the director of the movie, was searching for a writer who was interested in penning devotional scripts with wholeheartedness. As Jayapurna is deeply involved in spirituality, he accepted the offer to write Mahavatar Narasimha’s story.
