Zara Akbar

Zara Akbar is a Pakistani Actress and theater personality. She was born on 3rd of March, 1984 in Sargodha, Punjab district of Pakistan. Her family included two brothers, mother and father. She lost her father and one of his brother died of blood cancer. She married but got separated from her husband soon after. They have a 14 year old son who supports Zara in her career and at the same time doesn’t know much about the nature of her work. She is the breadwinner of her family and everybody is dependent on her for their living. Her brother Safdar Akbar is also her manager. She made her debut through a children’s show on PTV called Morning Transmission when she was 12. Zara has been a part of Pakistani movies, television dramas as well as stage dramas and she loves doing all of them. She has to her name 50 PTV dramas like Silsala, Tasveer etc and has performed in approximately 200 stage dramas.

She has done a lot of these stage dramas in foreign land too like in Europe, UK etc. Among her many performances, there is also a movie named Suhagan and many others. When asked how she shifted her focus from television dramas to stage dramas, she confessed that it was always her dream to be performing in stage dramas. Owing to the several restrictions of a conservative society of Pakistan it is however not an easy job to perform wearing cut sleeves costumes that have a lot of skin show but she is reluctant because that has become a new trend and people don’t really want to see anything other than this. Zara also confesses that she doesn’t like dancing in stage dramas as it is considered rather inappropriate in their society but she does it anyway only because her show demands it. She is also about to launch one of her own music albums soon.
