Meenal Jain

Meenal Jain is an Indian television actress, playback singer, voice artist and host. She was born on 14 June 1985 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She gained popularity through Indian Idol Season 2. She was among top 6 finalists of Indian Idol 2, but later she was voted out of the show. Meenal Jain has an elder sister who is a trained Indian classical dancer. Once her sister was practicing her moves for the song "PiyaToseNainaLaga Re"and this was the new and undiscovered opening of her life. She loved this song so much that she used it sing it again and again.

Once on her sister's dancing show, she was encouraged and invited by the chief guest composer Ravindra Jain to sing on stage. He appreciated her efforts and inspired her a lot. After this, Meenal made up her mind to become a singer an encouraged her parents to allow her to join the Suresh Wadkar's Training Institute in Mumbai.

She started her training there but couldn't continue it for more than three months as she found it difficult to stay away from home, she was going through homesickness. She left the Institute and returned to Indore. Later she came back to Mumbai to continue her studies, and she decided to learn music on her own with the help of different people. Her mother supported her a lot.

She came to Mumbai to stay with her. She is now living in Mumbai for more than ten years and completing her graduate studies from Mithibai college, Pune. She gave her voice for Barbie in the Hindi dub version of the 2007 film(animated film)Barbie as the Island Princess.

She also sang the song 'Sakhi’ on Aamir Khan's most popular show Satyamev Jayate(which airs on star plus), a seventh show which depicted domestic violence. That song got very famous through Satyamev Jayate. She has performed many songs in Indian Idol 2 like AaoNa(Movie: Kyun! HoGayaNa), IshqSamundar(Movie: Kaante), LambiJudaai(Movie: Hero), Kuch Na Kaho(Movie: 1942: A LoveStory), MeraPiyaGharAaya(Movie: Yaarana (1995) ) etc.

Her Grand Finale performance included the songs WohPeheliBaar, Right Here Right Now, BarasJae Badal. She was in top 6 finalists of Indian Idol 2, but she was voted out on 28 February 2006. She has a great career as a playback singer in Bollywood.

Her playback singing includes the songs- Palken Jhukao Na from the movie Seher(2005), Dua from No One Killed Jessica(2010), Banarasiya from Ranjhana(2013), Cutie Pie from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil(2016), Kundali from Manmarziyaan(2018), Gaye Kaam Se from Laila Majnu(2018).
