Karishma Mehta

Karishma Mehta is an entrepreneur and social media influencer. She was born on March 9, 1992. Her birthplace is Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She was raised in Delhi. She has a younger and older sister. Her younger sister, Chandni, is a Psychologist, and her elder sister, Prerna, worked, in corporate India. She studied at Bombay Scottish School Mahim in Mumbai. Afterward, she spent two years in a boarding school in mo Bangalore. In 2013, she studied for a bachelor’s in economics and business at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. But she left this course and moved to India.

In 2014, she started her career as a writer. When she was 21, she started her career with a Facebook page, “Humans of Bombay,” in January 2014. She started this page by taking inspiration from a Facebook page named “Humans of New York”. This page was activated by Brandon Stanton. She discovered this page in 2013. She started her page by collaborating with two interns. To grow the page, she began approaching people on the street and requested them to give interviews so that she could share people’s problems from which they were suffering. Then, in 2016, she made her attempt to raise the money so that she could support needy ones.

Surprisingly, she was able to raise five crores for acid attack victims, children who need bone marrow transplantation, and the children of sex workers. In 2018, she was able to grow this page from six people of Mumbai and freelancers from other regions of India. She has also released a 2nd version of Humans of Bombay in 2021. It was a success very soon. In May 2023, Karishma inaugurated a new office place with a team of about thirty people for the Human of Bombay page. In 2022, she started a youtube video series named How the Hell Did I Do It. It was based on interviews with famous personalities and successful businessmen. Its motive was to motivate the people to survive demanding conditions. In 2023, she won the most prestigious award, the DNA Women’s Achiever Award. She has been a presenter at TEDx.

She is a freelance writer who has written for multiple publications like National Geographic. She was a speaker for numerous times at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. She got influenced by the famous author J.K.Rowling.
