Anjum Farooki

Anjum Farooki is an Indian TV actress who was born on August 17, 1981. She was married to Saqib Fayed. She used the motif of red color on her wedding because she believes that a bride would look good on red. She was officially married to Saqib on December 2012. She once told in her interview with Tellybuzz that marriage is a bliss that everyone should experience.

Anjum was previously plying her trade in the journalism profession. When quizzed about journalism and acting, she did concede that she was passionate on acting, but also said they were two different things and that she loved breaking the news and she was not a trained actor.

The 32-year old Indian television actress has starred in a couple of television series; she played the role of Antara in Aapki Antara Aapki Antara was written by Monish Sekhri and Amit >> Read More... in 2009-2010. She won the award for Best Actress in a supporting role. She became a popular vamp of Indian television through her role Gauri in Balika Vadhu.

The actress claims that she loves beautiful things, and the most expensive piece that she purchased was diamond jewellery. She loves to eat and her favourite is Italian food.

Anjum Farooki is well-known actress in Hindi television. Born in the state of Maharashtra on August 17th, 1981, she made her debut on the silver screen with Zee TV’s soap opera Aapki Antara in 2010. She played the title character Antara, a beautiful young girl who searches ardently for her lost (actually deceased) father. 

Although Anjum made her debut in 2010, she shot to fame with her role as Gauri Jagdish Singh in the famous Color’s show Balika Vadhu. Gauri is a grey character, the other woman in Jagdish’s life.  She was cast in a supporting role Richa, in Horror Nights – Haunted Hospital (Star One, 2010) and in Sony Entertainment Television’s Comedy Circus, 2011.  Anjum has won the Indian Telly Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role. 

Prior to her stint as a TV actor, Anjum worked as a TV journalist. Aged 33, Anjum Farooki is currently based in Mumbai. She quit the show Balika Vadhu in September 2012, before tying the knot with Saqib Syed, a merchant navy officer on December 29th, 2012.  She claims that she would love to enjoy this new phase of her life before she can get back to work on the silver screen.
