Ashish Kumar, also known as Asis Kumar is an actor by occupation. He was a very well-known director and film actor of Bengali and Hindi cinema. He has worked on numerous projects but is best remembered for his roles as a protagonist in Jai Dwarkadheesh in the year 1977, Raja Harishchandra in the year 1979 and Jai Santoshi Maa in the year 1975. He is popular for playing the roles of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva in a lot of mythological films. Ashish Kumar kick started his career in Bengali films before setting foot in the Hindi industry (Bollywood).
He was especially focused and attracted towards the genre of mythology hence decided to act and direct the same.
