Ramanjit Kaur is an International Award-winning Theatre and Film Actor and Director. She was born and raised in Chandigarh and settled in Kolkata since her marriage. Ramanjit completed her graduation in Music, Dance, Fine Arts and Literature. She is a Gold Medalist in Masters in Music. She completed her Masters in Music (Instrumental) at The Punjab University. She also studied at Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art and LAMDA - The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Ramanjit was trained under Clive Barker, author of Theatre Games, and many other famous playwrights. Ramanjit Kaur conducted her first theatre workshop with special children at Doon school when she was only 15. She formed The Creative Arts, a performing arts institute for children and adults in Kolkata, in 2002, where her aspiration to train and work with children in theatre, took formal shape. Since then, the institute has been imparting systematized lessons in acting, voice training, expression, music, dance, and production design and help children build confidence and learn teamwork. In 2011, she created an All-Women Theatre Group and had directed many plays with an all-women cast like 'Baawre Mann Ke Sapne,' 'Simayon se Parey,' 'Khatti Imli Meethe Ber,' 'Burning Bubbles' and 'Beyond Borders.' She is the Lead Actor of Padma Shri Neelam Mansingh Chowdhry's group for more than two decades.

Her all-women play 'Baawre Mann Ke Sapne' received a National Award and was invited to the National School of Drama International Festival 16th, in Bharangam, and, to Colombo, Sri Lanka, by SAARC and ICCR. Sri Lankan's Prime Minister's wife, Prof. Maithree Wickremesinghe, Indian High Commissioner, and other SAARC dignitaries attended the play.

She is known for creating work in different Theatre Genres such as Site-Specific Theatre, Theatre Science, Theatre as Therapy or Theatre for Development. She has been in the lead for a few movies, including Deepa Mehta’s ‘Fire’ and ‘Videsh - Heaven On Earth.’ She also starred in Shalini Raghavayiah’s ‘Watch the stars for me tonight,’ Samir Mehanovich’s ‘Mouth of Hell,’ and Deepa Mehta’s ‘Anatomy of Violence.’

She has performed at Festivals in India and worldwide.

Her production 'Beyond Borders' was performed at the 8th Theatre Olympics, one of the most prestigious global theatre events, by 29 women.
