Ruprekha Banerjee is a singer by profession, and she belongs to West Bengal. She was born on 28th July 1984. Fame Gurukul was a reality based show that had the contestants fighting to be the best singer, with elimination every week. The contestants had to stay together under one roof and get trained by their mentors, following the main judgement on the day of the music episode. This reality show was aired in June 2005, and ended in October 2005 with the best singers’ title going to Ruprekha and her co-participant.
She has also been on other music-based reality shows, one of them being, ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar’. This show aired on Star Plus. This music reality show had the winners and runner’s up of different music shows and had them all contest for the title of being the best among them.
She has stayed at Agarpara in West Bengal in her young days and learned Rabindra Sangeet there. She passed from Vidyasagar College and did her honors in Zoology from the University of Calcutta.

The winner of one of the biggest singing reality show, Fame Gurukul, Ruprekha Banerjee (daughter of Mr. Pradip Kr. Banerjee and Mrs. Kabita Banerjee) is known for her extraordinary talent for singing. Ruprekha is a Bengali, born in West Bengal, but she spent early years of her life in Agarpara, Kolkata. She completed her 12th standard from Ariyadaha Sarbamangala Vidyapith and then opted for Zoology Honors in VindyaSagar College, Kolkata.
Her Guru was her Grandfather, who identified her talent of singing at a very early age. Also, both her parents had always been involved in cultural activities which gave Ruprekha the kick start. She began humming the songs with her grandfather, and that was the time when that small kid started to take music classes from her Guru. She was only 6 when she started to take lessons of Rabindra Sangeet from her grandfather. And at the age of seven, her formal training for singing started at Hindustani Classical Music. After Pandit Arun Bhaduri, her guru taught her Light Classical Hindustan Music. She began to get early exposure as a playback singer in Bengali serial title song and film background songs.
