Avanti Patel

Avanti Patel is a famous Indian playback singer. After appearing in the well-known singing reality show Indian Idol season 10, she turned popular. Avanti graduated in humanities from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai, and did her master's in music from SNTD College. Her father, Pankaj Patel, is a vascular surgeon from Gujarat and her mother, Anita Patel, is a Urologist from Maharashtra. She has a younger sister, Jahanvi Patel. Coming from a medical background, she was never forced to be one. Avanti started singing from a very young age. She was only five when she started learning Hindustani classical music, and she was thirteen when she decided to pursue music as a career.

Avanti appeared in the first season of Zee Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma Pa little champs in 2008, and she was one of the top 8 contestants; and she also received the best performer award from Sachin Pilgaonkar. She launched her first album in 2010, Allad, a smiling melody, when she was just a teenager. It was composed by Varsha Bhave, a Hindustani Classical Vocalist. Songs of the album can be found on iTunes. In 2015, she debuted as a playback singer in a Gujarati movie, Hu Tu Tu, and the song is Achko machko. She appeared in Indian Idol season 10 in 2018, where she won the hearts of the judges with her magical voice. Avanti was one of the top 9 contestants. She also did some shows with Shankar Mahadevan.

Besides this, Avanti has started her project Mogra Misc Buy Desyrel, which is a series of music videos of classical songs. She could play Tanpura and she has performed in many classical singing concerts. Avanti also teaches music at Varsha Bhave's Kalangan Baalswar. The gifted singer sang many songs in her album mogra misc, such as duma dum mast kalandar, Tore bin rasiya, Aaj jane ki zid na karo, Kesariya balam, and some others. She sang songs like Deh deva che mandir for the movie Appa Ani Bappa(2019), Intehan ho gyi, and Bhare naina. Avanti Nagar's most recent song was Saiyaan Bina, released in May 2020, dedicated to normalizing queer and LGBTQIA+ narratives.
