Neil Julian Balthazar

Neil Julian Balthazar is a famous screenplay writer. He has good experience in the field of screen development. He studied Bachelor of Media Studies from Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication in Pune. He was the co–founder of Viman Talkies, a student initiative to promote independent cinema in Pune. He won various literary competitions on the festival circuit. He was the co–head of the Content and Conceptualization department for the college fest, DZMA 2015. He was the on–site volunteer for Blue Cross and also volunteered as a teacher’s assistant for Teach for India. He received Longlist – Toto Award for creative writing in the English language issued by Toto Funds the Arts in 2013 and 2015. He is also closely associated with animal welfare events.

He worked as a magazine editor for Q Theatre Productions. He got the chance to coordinate with various writers and designers to bring the magazine. He wrote various pieces for the magazine. He worked as an official blogger for Thespo 15. He has experience working as a freelance writer for Supari Studios. He was the lead scriptwriter on a series of six web films that was associated with a major paint brand. During the shoot, he acted as a script supervisor and as a director’s assistant. He worked as a freelance copywriter for Saatchi and Saatchi in 2016. He wrote copy for branding elements of DBS digibank with tie–up with Cafe Coffee Day. He designed branding for DBS’ association with Rising Pune Super Giants during IPL 2016.

He also worked as a content writer for Tata CLiQ. He used to write around 15 – 20 per month based on various topics like film, music, travel, lifestyle, wellness and food. His work was to pitch ideas according to the monthly scheme provided and write highly shareable articles based on trending topics. Like this, he came in contact with various experts for collaboration and used to conduct interviews with celebrities, copyedit freelancers’ stories and maintains quality content along with assisting in building a monthly calendar.

He worked as a senior writer in East India Comedy private limited where he uses to write scripts for comedy sketches, branded content, parody songs, game shows and various web series. He uses to handle lead projects from conceptualization to release within the established deadlines and as a creator and lead writer for an unproduced web series. He has worked as a punch-up writer on various projects and has done weekly pitching of fresh concepts based on trending topics. He was also an ex-stand-up comedian.
