Prithwish Barman

Prithwish Barman is a producer who is credited with other roles like creative director, editor and writer. He stepped foot in the entertainment industry as a video editor but is known for his versatility in digital OTT.

Barman pursued a Bachelor’s in Economics at the Presidency College, which he completed in 2008. After that, he did a Master’s in Film Studies at Jadavpur University. He began working as an editor and associate producer in Kolkata in 2010.

In 2013, he served as a director’s associate at Animagineer for a year. Simultaneously, he was also an editor and content developer at Kaahon Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd in Kolkata.

The versatile producer also served as a filmmaker and producer with Bent Cigarette Productions from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, he switched to ScoopWhoop Media Pvt Ltd, where he worked as a creative director, and head of execution.

In 2018, he relocated to Mumbai to join Madness Picture Company as a group creative director, working for three years. After his stint with the company, Barman became an executive producer and digital content head at Drishyam Films, Mumbai.

Barman worked as post-production assistant for the 2011 documentary Bom, helmed by Amlan Datta. He donned the role of script supervisor for the 2013 Bengali crime short film Nishchinno, which he also directed. He also scripted and produced the short film.

As a director, Prithwish is known for the 8-minute documentary Jadui Bunai, starring Madhussneha Upadhyay Madhussneha Upadhyay is also known as Sneha Upadhy >> Read More... . He has also helmed the short video Madness JAMS, released in 2018. He also served as a director for another short film, Aur Kitna Time Lagega, released in 2020. A man of many talents, Prithwish worked as a creative director for the television show The Big Forkers. He served as a creative director for X-Ray for ten episodes of the television show, Inside Edge Story soon >> Read More... in 2019. Interestingly, he was also the executive producer for marketing and promotional content for the same number of episodes of the show.

In 2020, Barman was a creative director for Four More Shots Please and Aarya. He is also known as a producer of Inside Edge, Baked, the short video Madness JAMS, and Jadui Bunai, among others.
