Lisa Mishra is an Indian-American playback singer. Lisa was born on August 4, 1994, in Behrampur, Odisha. Her father's name is Salil K Mishra, a former employee at the state bank of India. Her mother is a housewife, and her elder sister is a food blogger. At the age of six, she moved to Chicago with her family. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University Bloomington, Chicago, majoring in Economics and Religion. She has also spent her time on research projects with Andrew Mellon Foundation and The Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA.

She is a gifted singer who started learning music at the very young age of four. She hasn't taken any professional training in music and has self-learned the art. In 2007, at the age of 13, Lisa started her own YouTube channel, where Lisa used to upload her audios initially. Later, she became comfortable with the platform and uploaded videos, revealing her face. At the age of 15, Lisa started learning guitar. In 2014, she uploaded her first song cover, 'Kabira' from the new age Romantic-Comedy 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.' She has worked on the songs 'How Great' and 'All We Got' in the album, ‘Coloring Book' by Chance the Rapper, which won the Grammy Award in 2016. In 2018, she worked with the American singer Jamila Woods and sang the 'Brown Girls' theme song.

As a background vocalist, Lisa Mishra has worked with the famous American singer DJ Khaled in his album 'Grateful.' She has also lent her voice for 'Living Single' by Big Sean. She started her career as a data analyst in Chicago and has become a singing sensation in India. She got her first song in the Hindi film industry in 2018. On May 19, 2018, Lisa had uploaded an Instagram video of her singing a mashup of the songs ‘Tareefan' and 'Let Me Love You.' To Lisa's surprise, the video captured the interest of Bollywood sisters Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor. Lisa was left astonished when Sonam Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor reposted Lisa's video on her Instagram handle. The Indian Film producer Rhea Kapoor called Lisa to Mumbai. With the reprise of the song 'Tareefan,' Lisa captured the audience's attention in India. Being raised in America, Lisa never betrayed her roots and contributed to the Hindi film industry as much as she does to Hollywood. The girl has made the country proud with her passion and dedication to music. Lisa Mishra has successfully achieved more than 400K followers on Instagram at an early stage of her career. In April 2020, Lisa released the song 'Nai Chaida,' which she composed and sang.
