He is a devoted Sarangi player who has been hailed as a child prodigy in the world of Indian Classical music. In succession with his family tradition, Suhail draws from a rich musical heritage and is an eighth-generation Sarangi player. He is not just any reputed artist,but also a multi skilled maestro associating with distinguished talents and having concerts around the world.

Talking about his journey from the very beginning, Suhail started learning Sarangi under the supervision of his Uncle and Grandfather at a very early age in one of the conventional Indian methods of teaching-“Guru-Shishya Parampara”. Yusuf Khan has had more than a dozen collaborations in the past few years with artists such as Scottish singer James Yorkston, jazz double bassist Jon Thorne, violinist Patsy Reid, and accordion player Hannah James.
