It was her humble roots belonging to a middle-class family and having a father who was a Government employee who stressed upon the importance of education above everything that made her first pursue her graduation before branching off to acting. She had been interested in acting and theater from a very young age and performed in school plays and even street plays. Such was her love for drama that she even directed a performance at the tender age of 15, while she studied in class nine. She was captivated with Bollywood, and it was her dream to be a renowned actress. The movie “Devdas” moved her in particular and strengthened her love for acting. In pursuit of the same dream of making it to the silver screen, she moved to Mumbai. It was in Mumbai that she got discovered by a Talent Scout who landed her an advertisement with Vodafone Inc. She auditioned for the lead role of Neelu, managing to successfully make it past the auditions. After the auditions, she was required to go through intensive acting workshops in Mumbai before she finally bagged the part. She managed to give an appreciable performance in the movie and won a lot of critical acclaims for the raw and realistic portrayal of her character. She created a space to shine despite the predominantly male cast. When asked about it, she claims that it was the emotional bonding she had with the character that evolved her acting and even brought about a change in her mindset. She also admits that she was nervous to shoot the kissing scene opposite the male protagonist, Shashank Arora, and here as well her parents’ broad-minded thinking and support helped her overcome the obstacle. She idolizes Deepika Padukone and wishes to continue working in films rather than TV serials. She is currently working on her next venture “Leader” which is directed by the famous director Rajesh Tibrewal.
