Rajshree is an Indian actress. She was born on 8th October 1944 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is the daughter of notable filmmaker V. Shantaram and actress Jayashree. Jayashree is the second wife of V. Shantaram. She married to Greg Chapman, the famous American tailor.

She met him in America during the shoot of ‘Around the World in 8 dollars’. Since then she is living in America and running a successful custom clothing business along with her husband.

Rajashree made her acting debut as child artist in the film ‘Subah Ka Tara’ in 1954. Her father launched her as an actress in the film ‘Geet Gaya Patharon Ne ’ with Jeetendra in 1964. She has acted in the films like Brahmachari, Shehnai, Janwar and many more.

Rajlakshmi Devi was an Indian actress known for her role in movies such as Palli Samaj, Puran Bhagat, Mahanisha,Gora, Milan, Meenakshi, Pratibad, Boudi, among many others. Rajlakshmi Devi was born in 1902 in the city of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, India, but she considers Kolkata as her hometown. Rajlakshmi undertook dance lessons, as well as training in music before she ventured into professional performances. Devi made an impression on various artists from the cultural field with her presentation of the Rabindranath Tagore’s stage play, Grihaprabesh. Subsequently, Devi was noticed by film directors, one of whom was Sisir Kumar Bhaduri, who cast her in Palli Samaj. Bhaduri also starred in the movie alongside Biswanath Bhaduri and Yogesh Choudhary. From there on, Devi’s career catapulted into stardom, and she featured in more than two hundred regional films. Sisir Kumar Bhaduri also cast Devi in many of his stage plays, and she performed comic, as well as villainous roles with ease. 1933 saw Devi in the Debaki Bose-directed Puran Bhagat, which also featured Choudhury Mohammed Rafique, M. Kumar, and Anwari Begum. The year of 1935 saw Devi alongside Ratin Banerjee in the Satu Sen-directed Mantra Shakti. 1936 saw Devi play the role of ‘Bhikarini’ in the Naresh Mitra-directed Mahanisha. In 1936, Devi also featured alongside Kanu Bannerjee in Sukumar Dasgupta’s drama, Rajgee. The director, Naresh Mitra’s movie rendition of Tagore’s play, Gora, saw Devi play the role of Anandamoyee. By 1939, Devi was an established actress in Bengal, featuring in a minimum of six films per year. Devi was cast in the Prafulla Roy-directed Parashmoni, Sushil Majumdar’s drama, Rikta, the Kanan Devi starrer Jawani Ki Reet, Phani Burma’s thriller Janak Nandini, and the Sisir Kumar Bhaduri-directed Chanakya. The year of 1941 saw a Devi feature in P. C. Barua’s drama Uttarayan, the Kanu Bannerjee starrer Mayer Pran, and the Naresh Mitra-directed Banglar Meye. The 40s saw Devi in the Hemachandra Chunder-directed Pratibad, the writer, Debaki Bose’s historical drama Chandrashekhar, the Pashupati Chatterjee-directed Swami, and in the Manoranjan Bhattacharya starrer Robin Master. Devi has also featured in Arup Guhathakurta’s masterpiece Banarasi, the Sushil Majumdar-directed Lal Pathar, the Jyotirmoy Roy-directed musical comedy, Bandish, and the Debranjan Basu starrer Shyamali. Unfortunately, Devi met with a car accident in 1971 and left for her heavenly abode the following year.
