Ragasiya Hindi Actress

Ragasiya

Ragasiya is a model-turned-actress who wanted to shine in Bollywood, Kollywood, and Tollywood even.  Alos, she was a theater performer. She even walked on ramps for Umar Zafar, and Nisha Jamwal.  Her actual name is Vedica Shivsagar who was born on September 25, 1988, in Mumbai. It was Tamil movie director Saran who christened her as Ragasiya. But despite having a modern outlook in life for which she preferred to become a runway model in her career, the actress was a skilled dancer too and learned Kathak and later was trained in hip-hop and Salsa. This actress is not usually seen as the commercial heroine who performs on dance numbers. However, Ragasiya learned hip-hop from Ganesh Hegde and Salsa from Sandeep Soparkar. Even choreographer Saroj Khan had trained her in many classical dance steps which she managed to learn from scratch and excel in it. After learning dances perfectly, she worked as assistant choreographer for many Bollywood dance masters like Pony Verma, Longie Fernandes, Raju Khan and others. The actress tried to make her debut with Hindi movie in lead heroine, but that did not happen. Later on, she acted only as special appearance doing some item numbers in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam movies. Her first break in special appearance was given by Saran while he was making Vasool Raja MBBS with Kamal Haasan. Later, there was no looking back for this actress who was spotted in cameo or guest appearance in numerous South Indian films. After getting offers for item numbers in Kollywood, she was given supporting roles in films like Indira Vizha and Velmurugan Borewells. She had a brief period in Bollywood but then did not stay longer in Tamil film industry too. It is indeed sad despite being a trained dancer which is necessary specifically in the film industry, the actress occurred in some item dance numbers that was needed for promotion and distribution purposes. Item numbers became an important part of Indian movies even in the South and are still considered as a crowd magnet hence Ragasiya’s charisma refuses to fade away.
