Shakirul Aalam is an actor, director, and producer who is best known for the 2016 film teeltaal (three rhythms). Heaton, New Castle, is where he was born and raised. He began his career as a pharmaceutical chemist after graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in the field. He eventually decided to drop everything and pursue his ambition of being a screenwriter and filmmaker. He enrolled in Anupam Kher's acting school in London. He then went to Mumbai at the end of the training to begin making contacts. Shakirul, whose family owns an Indian restaurant in Shiremoor, subsequently established his own production firm, with his buddy Jahangir Jaz Ali, a dentist from Newcastle, serving as executive producer.
"It was good to be properly appreciated in all of the categories, being mentioned as a promising name who would make an impact in film," he added, having written, co-produced, directed, and appeared in the movie in a supporting role. Knowing that my debut film elicited such a favourable response makes me tremendously happy. Being a former chemist from Newcastle with no film connections gives me even more, hope that my passion and dedication to succeed in the film industry is paying off.
