Sandeep Shetty is an Indian actor known for his acting prowess in Tulu language cinema. He was born on 23rd July in Manibettu near Shirva which is in Udupi district of Karnataka state. His parents are Rathna Shetty (mother) and Sunder Shetty (father). He began as a thespian in the year 1998 when he wrote and directed Nathuna Paru, a Tulu drama. Since then, Sandeep never looked back, and continued to act in numerous dramas and flicks. He led his team Prashamsa to win Bale Telipale, three times in a row. Sandeep, his team, and the comedy competition became popular in the Karnataka coastline.
Owing to his fame, Kannadigas who live outside their native state, have become keen viewers of his works. In fact, Sandeep and his team have performed in cities like Bengaluru, New Delhi, and Mumbai where there is a sizeable Kannada and Tulu population. Sandeep has achieved fame beyond the borders, as he happens to perform in some countries which include Middle East nations such as United Arab of Emirates, Qatar, and Bahrain. In 2016, Nama Tuluveru, a cultural association working for the Tulu diaspora, organized Sandeep’s play “Aye Subhage” in Dubai, UAE. With his rib-tickling jokes, the world finally recognized the comedian’s talent.
While performing abroad, Bunts Bahrain felicitated Shetty with a memento as a token of appreciation. In 2008, he essayed the character of a gangster in PH Vishwanath’s Telikeda Bolli. Under the banner of Central Cinemas, Sudhir Kamath produced the project. Sandeep Shetty became a part of cinema history as his another outing Madime (2014) got to be the first Tulu movie to get its remake in another language. Ekka Saka opened to encouraging reviews when it got released on 1st May 2015. Shetty played a supporting cast member in Ekka Saka. Apparently, it completed 100 days of screening in the port city of Mangalore/Mangaluru after the flick’s release.
