Dinkar Rao is an Indian actor, director and writer. He studied in Delhi and graduated Media in World Future Studies Federation in Spain. Dinkar is associated with YEU or Youth for Exchange and Understanding in Europe. He traveled around the country and journeyed to Sikkim, Jaisalmer, Gangotri and more. He initially worked as an assistant director to veteran film director Hariharan and other South film directors before he shifted to Mumbai film industry.Â
Dinkar’s directorial debut is the film,
Black Widow
– The Land Bleeds, which was released with 26 cuts after a long wait. This film has concluded its shoot in 2005, but some senior police officers banned its release, claiming that it will create problems with the law and order in the country. Black Widow is a story about the Muslim girl named Zoya, which was played by
Ratna Malay
and her relationships with others including the right wing leader.Â
Dinkar also donned the film, Sanyogita – The Bride in Red, opposite Divya Datta and
Milind Gunaji
. Sanyogita won the Best Film Award at the Lyons Film Festival in France. The director also worked in his feature film entitled Papoo Photowalah, which consists of Indian-British cast. Dinkar also penned and directed documentary films such as Dancing Daughters, Sibba: The Drag Queen, Lady James Bond, Death Ward, Taj Mahal, Old Delhi: The Veiled Enigma, Chor Bazaar and a lot more.Â
Besides documentaries, he also worked in television serials like Sahara, Safar, Just for Kids, Deewangi and Rohtak Express. He also worked on music videos like Laila, Chichora Saale and Oh My Life. He also directed corporate films like Namaste India Tokyo, Medanta, Abisca, Wrangler and more.Â
Dinkar recently worked in the film Bawaria Gant – The True Story. This is a film based on the Northern India gangsters. He also worked in feature films like Popcorn, Murgi and Begum Samru.
