Whether it be Rehaan of the romantic drama “Never kiss your best friend” or Ronnie of crime-comedy film, “Three dots and a dash,” Adi has won the hearts of his audience with his versatile acting skills and dashing looks.
Adi was born in Bhilai, a small town in India, and later moved with his parents to New Delhi. After staying in Delhi for eight years, they migrated to Germany.
To let go of the nervousness of being on a new continent, around culture and language he barely understood, Adi started acting on stage. In Hamburg, Germany, 9-year-old Adi played the role of Sir Andrew Aguecheek of “Twelfth Night.”
Soon the stage became a comforting ground for Adi as he was able to transform himself into any character and escape the strange new world. Indian parents generally believe acting is not a safe career path, so was the thinking of Adi’s parents, due to which he pursued an undergraduate degree in Economics and Finance at the Pennsylvania State University.
While pursuing his studies, he shot his first film project, “Pool sharks,” in Pennsylvania. After completing his studies, he started working in Citibank.
He always felt that it was not his place, and finally, after two years, he decided to move to New Delhi, where he hoped to find a place for himself in Bollywood.
He worked at Accenture as a management consultant, and whenever he got the time, he participated in theater. But this didn’t work for Adi.
So he went back to the UK, attended The London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, and got a Masters of the Arts degree at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School. Today he is one of the finest theater artists of India.
