Abrar Zahoor was born on 16th January 1989 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. He is famous for being an Indian model and actor. His ascend in his acting career started with the film Neerja in which he played the negative lead role of a terrorist plane hijacker. In the year 2004 he moved from Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and continued his graduation (11th and 12th class) at the Madras Christian College matriculation school in Chennai. He later on went onto graduating in visual communication, 3D animation and movie making, where he received a diploma. Later in the year 2006, at the age of 16 years, he did his first modelling shoot in Chennai. In the year 2010 as his modelling took a front seat and started to pick up pace, he moved to Bangalore in hope of pursuing this career path and soon found immersing himself in photography and modelling.
This strategic moving soon found him walking in the ramp for various agencies and designers in both Chennai and Bengaluru, during his debut struggling years. In another strategic move, he shifted to Mumbai in the year 2014 like many aspiring actors and models all around the county in hopes of making it to the silver screen which he did achieve by playing the negative lead as a Palestinian hijacker in the film starring in Neerja, in which Sonam Kapoor Sonam Kapoor, Daughter of Anil Kapoor and model Su >> Read More... played the lead role. This was a turning point in his career goals and gave him the boost, which he was in much need of to more success and fame. In the movie he is seen wearing a skull cap, the customary bearded face and dark kohl-rimmed eyes.
He is seen thrusting his way into the plane and terrorizing the passengers on the flight, Pan Am Flight 73. He then takes them hostage for the duration of his appearance in the film. The film portrays Abrar Zahoor’s character, the terrorist plane hijacker, in the negative role, a challenging character to play for a young debutant. Though his role demanded him to act in a stereotypical belief of a terrorist’s look, in reality Abrar Zahoor doesn’t believe in this misconception that people seem to have about how a terrorist’s appearance should be like. Being a driven and focused artist, that he has proven himself to be, before getting this role, he got his diploma from Barry John's acting institute in Mumbai before giving his auditions for the film.
