She has done her BA in psychology, sociology and Persian. Few of the people actually know that she is a social worker too. She has worked in various social awareness programs, the most notably being her association with WHO for their polio awareness campaign. As a representative and ambassador head of WHO, she has travelled across numerous villages, creating awareness about proper family planning and child health.

She is very much known for her kind hearted nature. She has adopted two sons, namely, Zafar and Zain, who were the sufferers of the devastating 2005 earthquake.
