Sonika Chopra is a Mumbai-based model. She was a copywriter for an advertising agency. Acting has been just a childhood passion for her.
She played the role of a doctor in ‘Kya Super Kool Hain Hum’(2012) which was a comedy film and was declared a hit. Her role was not in a maximum proportion, but she got noticed. She was seen in a film of Vikram Razdan's ‘Lights, Camera, Action’ and played Suniel Shetty’s wife too. This was a role that has been widely appreciated by her fans and audiences. Earlier, she appeared in a 25-minute-film, Kush, which stars Shayaan Sameer and
. The film was shortlisted by the Academy for 10-live action short films. The film story was on the backdrop of riots that took place after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984. The story revolved around a school picnic when a teacher is trying to protect Kush, the only Sikh child in the group.
Currently, she also appeared in an Indian TV series Tashan-E-Ishq which was premiered on August 10, 2015, on Zee TV. This is a Zee TV’s in-house-production, an Essel Vision Production. The story reveals a Punjabi girl story who drives away all grooms until she finds a matching lover Yuvraj (Zaid Imam). In this serial, Sonika plays the role of Piini Taneja.
She is a mother now. But she has balanced her life between modeling and her family. One way, she had accepted the role of a mother changing napkins of her baby. On the other hand, she liked doing some modeling assignments. She was a good copywriter in a reputed ad agency and even placed herself as a creative director for an alleged advertisement agency. Her projects included for various banking sectors such as IDFC & Axis Bank or even clothing materials like Raymond or even a food company like Dominos Pizza Inc. As a modeler, she has hosted over 50 shows in India and abroad.
