Chum Darang is a multi-talented actress, model, social activist, and entrepreneur of Indian origin. She hails from the town of Pasighat in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Chum has two younger brothers and an elder sister. Her parents, Tajeep Darang and Yamik Dulom Darang have been a constant source of support and inspiration throughout her life. Chum's interest in beauty pageants began at the age of 16 in 2007, and she went on to win Miss AAPSU 2010, which was a major turning point in her career. Since then, she has participated in various National and International beauty contests, winning accolades and recognition for her beauty and talent.
She was a finalist in the North East Diva 2014 and the second runner-up at Miss Himalaya 2015. She represented India in the Miss Asia World 2017 beauty pageant, where she won the Miss Internet sub-title. In addition to her beauty pageant accomplishments, Chum has also made a mark in the entertainment industry. She played a small role in the Amazon Prime series Paatal Lok and has also appeared in the Bollywood films Badhaai Do and Gangubai Kathiawadi. She has been recognized by the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh for her work as a social activist.
She is passionate about empowering women and children and has been involved in various social initiatives to uplift the underprivileged sections of society. Apart from her professional endeavors, Chum is also an entrepreneur. She runs her own cafe called 'Cafe Chu' in Pasighat, which has become a popular destination for food lovers in the region.
