Raja Kumari is a famous Indian lyricist. The real name of Raja Kumari is Svetha Yellapragada Rao. She was born on 11 January 1986 at Claremont in California, United States. She is an Indian-American. Svetha is an Indian American songwriter, recording artist and rapper. She also plays instruments like vocals, Keyboard, and guitar. Raja did B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) in religious studies focusing especially on South Asian Religions. She started practicing dance when she was only seven years old. Kumari is an efficient Indian Classical dancer. She has worked with various bands and artists like Gwen Stefani, Iggy Azalea, Fifth Harmony, Knife Party, and Fall out Boy. Raja has won BMI Pop Awards in the year 2016 as a songwriter and was nominated for Grammy Awards in 2015 in February. She appeared in a program named Bobby Friction on 5 July 2016. This program aired by BBC Asian Network. Raja Kumari loves Pop, Dance, and Hip Hop genres.

She is active in the music industry since 2012. She has also done many Philanthropist activities like she established a hospital in Bangalore, India and a Meditation Hall in a city of South India. She worked for physically disabled children under Vegesna Foundation. Kumari received "Kohinoor Award" for her excellence in the field of Classical Arts by the Governor of Tamil Nadu. She got the chance to work with Rahman in 2018 when she wrote and performed two songs named Roots and City Slums along with “Divine.” She made her cameo appearance as Judge in Ranveer Singh starrer movie, Gully Boy.
