Saeed is a senior Indian journalist, a television commentator, and an interviewer. He is a father of two amazing daughters; one is a writer, and another is a Journalist. His journalistic career began as a staff reporter with The Statesman, Delhi, in 1964. After this, he became editor of the Sunday Magazine. When in the spring of 1968, The Beatles visited, he, along with a fellow photographer, filed news reports and photographs for newspapers. The interviews he took with world leaders and personalities in India and abroad appeared in newspapers, magazines, and national television.
He is the editor and the producer of the WORLD REPORT- this show aired weekly on Doordarshan for international affairs, which also featured interviews with major world leaders. This show has been written for several national and international publications, including BBC News, the Sunday Observer, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Washington Post, The Indian Express, The Citizen, and The Outlook Magazine.
In 1977, in the Indian Express, he started as a Special Correspondent; in the process, he became, editor, Indian Express, Madras, (1979-1984), and the Foreign Editor, The Indian Express, Delhi in 1984, and even now he continues to write columns and features for the paper. He was awarded the National Integration Award by the National Commission for Minorities in New Delhi on 18 December 2003.
