Namita is the head of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. It is an Indian multinational firm. However, its head office is situated in Pune, Maharashtra. Namita was born on 21st March 1977. She completed her schooling in Pune, Maharashtra, and later took admission to Savitribai Phule Pune University, to acquire a B. Com degree. At the same time, she joined ICAI to pursue Chartered Accountancy. After completing her graduation, Namita moved to Durham, North Carolina, and converged to Fuqua School of Business at Duke University for an MBA. Namita’s parents are Satish Mehta and Bhavana Mehta.

Namita enjoyed her childhood with his younger brother, Samit Mehta. He is the President of R & D of Emcure Pharmaceuticals. Namita Thapar tied the knot with a businessman, Vikas Thapar. They have two children named Vir Thapar and Jai Thapar. However, Namita's MBA degree opened several doors for her. Among all, she chooses in working in a British multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company, GlaxoSmithKline, headquartered in London. Later, she gained the opportunity in working at Guidant Corporation. Namita's enthusiasm and working capacity assist her to work in the financial planning department in notable companies as the leader in the business finance section.

After gaining a lot of experience, she moved to serve her father's company Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and acquired the seat of CFO. Moreover, with time she will be designated as the Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals in 2022. Namita Thapar founded Incredible Ventures Ltd in 2017. This educational company promoted youth entrepreneurs to think outside of the box to achieve their goals. This company groom children of the age group of 11-18 years of age. Namita is also among the most notable Board Members of the Regional Advisory Board of Fuqua School of Business.

However, she is also associated with institutions like the Young Presidents Organization, the TiE Mumbai, The Women Entrepreneurship Platform, the Digital Health Task Force, and Champions of Change. Apart from being a successful entrepreneur Namita Thapar is also an author; she inscribed a book, "The Dolphin and the Shark." She released the book in 2022. Namita has been felicitated with special awards like The Economic Times Women Ahead List 2017, Barclays Hurun Next Gen Leader Recognition, The Economic Times 40 under Forty India’s Hottest Young Business Leaders List 2017, and World Women Leadership Congress Super Achiever Award.
