Binny Bansal is an Indian entrepreneur and a billionaire. He was born in 1983 in the city of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. He completed his schooling from St. Anne's Convent School, Chandigarh and his higher education in software programming from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, from where he graduated with a degree in computer science and engineering. He is a resident of Bangalore. He is married to Trisha Bansal with whom he has twin sons.
Binny Bansal is the co-founder of one of India’s most famous e-commerce platforms- Flipkart. He founded Flipkart with his brother Sachin Bansal in October 2007. He worked as the COO of Flipkart and was later promoted to the position of the CEO in 2017, he later resigned in 2018. He started his career as a software engineer in Sarnoff and then in Amazon. He is the Board Advisor of Udhyam Learning Foundation. He co-founded xto10x and is its Executive Chairman. He is an anchor investor and advisor in the venture firm 021 Capital. He is an angel investor in multiple startups, including BrightCHAMPS, Virgio, Flash, Hire Quotient and Glints. He is the board member of various organizations such as GreyOrange, Acko, Curefoods, PhonePe, IIT Delhi Endowment.
